How the estimate is calculated

We begin with the official DFAS payday and count backward by up to two U.S. banking business days. Saturdays, Sundays and federal bank holidays are not counted. This produces an earliest date—not a promise that the ACH file will be available that morning.

Holidays and weekends

Calendar days and business days are different. A Monday official payday can create a Thursday earliest estimate because the intervening weekend does not count as two banking days. Federal holidays can move the estimate another calendar day earlier.
